Psalm 89
Daily Devotional from Psalm 89—
Verse 15 (KJV)
“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.”
Some people spend their time chasing the good life – living for the weekend, the next vacation, retirement, or whatever pleasure they can afford. If it isn’t money, perhaps it’s sex. If it isn’t sex, then maybe entertainment, experiences, possessions, or some other way of squeezing a little more enjoyment out of life.
But there is a deeper kind of life.
It is the joy of knowing God: He knows me. He loves me. I am forgiven. I am following His will. My life is becoming what He created it to be.
That kind of joy isn’t dependent on circumstances. Whether life is comfortable or difficult, I can still walk in the light of His countenance.
I don’t need everything life can offer. I have God, and He is enough.
