2 Chronicles 19
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 19--
Verse 3
“…good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.”
God rebuked Jehoshaphat through Jehu for aligning himself with God-hating Ahab, He also acknowledged his good actions. When we have erred, we can follow this example.
Ask the Holy Spirit what actions, ambitions or affiliations have become your idols. Ask God to forgive you and in the power of the Holy Spirit, replace the wrong with right ones (Rom 12:21).
Ask the Lord to show you what to do to turn others to Jesus (Matt 28:18-20).
By doing these things you are preparing your heart to seek God. Meditate on scripture addressing your situation. Ask a trusted brother or sister to pray with you and hold you accountable. Spend time listening for God’s voice. He will speak to you as you quiet yourself before Him (Jeremiah 33:3, John 10:27, Rom 2:4).
God’s mercy is new every morning! (Lam 3:22-23)
