2 Chronicles 23
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 23--
Verse 11
“Then they brought out the king's son and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony. And they proclaimed him king, and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and they said, ‘Long live the king.’”
God is so faithful. He kept His Word and preserved David’s line. Athaliah thought she could take power and rule in her might, but God had other plans. God keeps His Word, and if He wills something, it will happen! The outcome of people reaching for power on their own is their own downfall. In this story, Athaliah met the fate of those who reach for power.
Trust today that what God wills will come to be. If He is the one saying it, no one can stop it. What has God been speaking to you? Take Him at His Word and trust Him; wait on Him to fulfill it. We don’t have to wonder about whether or not our God will come through because He always does.
