2 Chronicles 4
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 4--
Verse 19-22
“So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God: the golden altar, the tables for the bread of the Presence, the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold to burn before the inner sanctuary, as prescribed; the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of purest gold; the snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold, and the sockets of the temple, for the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and for the doors of the nave of the temple were of gold.”
Everything was made to perfection. In the Old Testament, we read that God’s work, ways, knowledge, and law are perfect. He is the perfect one. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:48, “You therefore must be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”
If that sounds impossible, remember James 1:4: “And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” God, through Jesus’ blood, makes us perfect in Him. As we seek Him, He makes us a perfect temple for the Holy Spirit.
Can we become seekers today, not striving for the perfection that can only come through God, but seeking to be the best servants of the Lord Most High; letting God take care of the rest?
