1 Chronicles 3
Daily Devotional from 1 Chronicles 3--
Verse 9
These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines. And Tamar was their sister.
The first 8 scriptures list 19 sons born to David. Then the Bible admits there were sons of concubines, though they are not listed by name or number. Not every person in David’s family line was included in the Chronicles Hall of Fame.
I have often wondered why some were included and not others. My conclusion is that even the unlisted children were never lost in God’s sight. Likewise, although we are not listed in the Bible, God has never lost sight of us. He knows who we are, what we are doing, why we are here, and how He plans to work in our lives daily.
He is always with us, but real changes come through daily asking (praying), seeking (reading our Bibles), and knocking (listening). Can we make it a point to ask, seek, and knock every day? I promise you, these simple acts will change your life not just today, but forever.
