2 Kings 2
Daily Devotional from 2 Kings 2--
Verse 5
The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho drew near to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that today the Lord will take away your master from over you?” And he answered, “Yes, I know it; keep quiet.”
Elijah entreated him not to come as he travelled, but Elisha would not leave Elijah’s side. Elisha knew he had little time with his beloved, revered master. He didn’t want to miss a moment.
Likewise, our loved ones could be removed from us suddenly. Let us be present in their lives and pray for them. Ask the Lord to make the most of the time we have with them. Above all, let us pursue time with our Master, lest we miss what he wants to impart! To receive from Him, we must first come to Him.
