1 Chronicles 18
Daily Devotional from 1 Chronicles 18--
Verses 6c & 13b (CSB)
The Lord made David victorious wherever he went.
This chapter goes out of its way to say, the LORD made David victorious wherever he went, twice. Repetition in scripture communicates importance, saying pay attention reader.
David was not victorious because he was a good leader, wise or walked in righteousness (which were very good things David did). David had victory wherever he went because it was the LORD who made him victorious. In turn, David trusted in the Lord’s victory, not his own.
Is there a battle you are fighting? A sin you can’t seem to put to death? A problem that seems bigger than what one person can tackle? Put your trust in the LORD. It is HE who makes us victorious. The battle is already won. You just have to believe it.
“Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword…No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:35 & 37
