Daily Devotional from 1 Chronicles 10--
Verse 14
He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
If God places you in a position of leadership, do not take it lightly. This might be a leadership role on the job, in the church, in a volunteer position, or in your family. If you are a parent, or an older sibling, you are in a leadership role! And when God places someone in a role like that, the deal is basically this: ‘I’ll give you this position and bless your leadership if you follow MY GUIDANCE.’ (Deut. 28:1)
Saul got too big for his britches. He didn’t think he needed to obey every little command. He became prideful. He got impatient. And man, did it end badly for him. A sad, sad story. Let’s not be like Saul. Let’s be more like David, keeping our focus on God and our hearts turned toward Him, ready to follow where He leads. God help us.
