Psalm 18

Daily Devotional from Psalm 18–

Verse 29
“For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.”

Listen to David's confidence. He's not dwelling on the problem or imagining the worst. He's looking to God and expecting victory. Troop? Wall? Child’s play. That's the outlook faith produces. 

As God's people, we're called to move forward with courage, believing that He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20). But notice the source of David's confidence: “by You... by my God.” We don't overcome by self-confidence but by God-confidence. When we rely on Yahweh, we can face every obstacle with hope, knowing He will supply the strength we need.
