Psalm 16

Daily Devotional from Psalm 16–

Verse 8
“I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

King David had his priority right. He put the Lord first in his life. Does that mean he was perfect? No, only Jesus lived a perfect life. But David knew that the Lord was his source
of strength. 

By acknowledging that God was at his right hand, David was acknowledging that God symbolizes power, authority, divine protection, honor, and strength in his life. The same characteristics weren’t just symbols in the life of Jesus; they were reality. David believed that God would use those characteristics in his life to support and deliver his people, Israel. Jesus has those characteristics and uses them to guide us to complete the tasks he sets before us. 

Jesus has all power, all authority, all protection, all honor, and all strength. Acknowledging who he is will allow us to stand strong and not be shaken no matter what comes into our lives. Let’s honor Jesus today by declaring who He is, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, the one deserving of all our worship and all our praise.
