Verse 26
They seek a vision from the prophet, while the law perishes from the priest and counsel from the elders.
In any healthy and functioning community there will be multiplicity of voices. Some will provide vision, others will offer instruction, and others still will give us counsel. But never is it one-stop shopping. No one person has all the goods. And there is an even distribution of gifts in God’s church. No one person has it all. This is a beautiful picture of interdependence. We all need each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7 tells us: “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” Take a moment today to appreciate the multiplicity of voices God has surrounded you with today.
