Joshua 11-13
Daily Devotional from Joshua 11--
Verse 15
Just as the LORD had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.
Joshua was faithful to the original command God gave Him to be strong, courageous, and careful to follow all the directions given through Moses. Throughout our reading today, we see how Joshua faced many hard things in battle. But, in each example we see his immediate obedience and faithfulness to his calling.
God has called us to do many things as His followers, but it’s not always easy to do what we know we ought to do. Paul even wrote about this struggle in Romans 7:15-20 when he said, “For I do not what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” There will be times we will fail, but I love the example of Joshua’s willing heart to be strong and courageous in following his calling. Even though it can be hard to be obedient, let’s let Joshua’s example encourage us today to be strong and courageous and leave nothing undone that the Lord has commanded us.
