Deuteronomy 6-7
Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 6--
Verse 5
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Complete trust and complete devotion is what the Israelites were being called to in Deuteronomy 6-7. He asks the same of us. In fact, Jesus repeats these same words in the New Testament when He is asked what the greatest commandment is by teachers of the Law (Mark 12:30, Matthew 22:37, Luke 10:27).
We all face daily challenges when it comes to our trust and devotion to Christ. He wants our complete devotion—our everything, but it’s not easy to give that when we aren’t taking conscious steps to center our lives in Him. Today, take one step further in your devotion and your trust of God. Maybe that looks like talking with Jesus while you run errands or work, or worshiping Christ to music while you’re stuck in traffic, or taking time to talk to someone about the verses you read today. Whatever it is you do today, do it with completely devoted love—heart, soul, and might—towards our amazing and awesome God.
