1 Samuel 6
Daily Devotional from 1 Samuel 6—
Verse 6
Why should you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? After he had dealt severely with them, did they not send the people away, and they departed?
Once again, we see people resisting God and His plan by hardening their hearts. God had dealt severely with the Egyptians when they wouldn’t let the Israelites go. And now God
has been dealing with the Philistines who had taken the Ark of the God of the Israelites.
What about us? Why is it that we can know what God wants, know that His plan is always best, and yet still resist? Our advantage today is that we don’t have to let history repeat
itself. We can say Yes to God’s plan for us and live in His protection, guidance, and love.
Isn’t that a better choice than resistance?
