Judges 1
Daily Devotional from Judges 1—
Verse 2
The LORD said, “Judah shall go up; behold, I have given the land into his hand.”
Does anyone else get chills when “The LORD said” comes across their page? I can imagine a deep, rich, booming voice that shakes the earth with its magnificence, glory, and authority. How powerful is our God! Take Judges 1 for example. He brought about victory after victory for the Israelites when they walked in obedience and trusted that his Word was Truth. When the Israelites realized the mighty power of God, everything changed. When God said, “go,” they went… and victory was theirs.
This challenges me to ask–do we treat God’s Word as powerful and authoritative in our lives? Think of the things you know God has said in his Word. Do those statements affect the way you live? Do you go when he tells you to go? Do you speak when he tells you to speak? Like the Israelites, do you move forward when God tells you that the victory has already been won?
Take some time today to reflect on the truth and power of God’s Word. Let it transform you, let it shape you, let it soak into your soul!
