Verse 34
And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessing and the curse, according to all that is written in the Book of the Law.

A battle was just won and Israel celebrated by sacrificing to God and hearing His Word. In life we have many victories and I hope in those moments we choose to honor the Lord. This battle was intense; Israel’s strategy was genius. But without God it wouldn’t have been. We must always acknowledge the Lord as the giver of all that is good.

As Israel’s leader, Joshua made sure that they gave the credit to God; He led the people in worship. Consider who you lead. Your children, your friends, your coworkers…are you leading them to Jesus? Giving glory to God is always our proper response, but we must be intentional to make sure that others know how to as well. You have been given influence; use it to teach others how to honor God’s Word and how to live sacrificially for Him.
