Verse 13b
You will not be able to stand against your enemies until you remove what is set apart.
Hidden sin affects everyone, not just the one hiding it—especially when it comes to light. Achan’s sin affected all of Israel and his whole family paid the consequence. Sin must be dealt with. When sin is brought to light, it holds no more power and the enemy of our soul cannot use it against you any longer. As long as it stays hidden, our enemy will use it to bring the whole community down.
1 Peter 5:8 says “Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.”
Is there anything you are keeping hidden? Bring it out to light. Don’t keep it hidden any longer. Confess. Repent. Deal with the consequences and be free of it and let Jesus save you.
