Deuteronomy 13
Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 13–
Verse 4
You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.
Just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it is good. In this passage, the Lord is reminding the Israelites that it’s easy to be led astray by signs, wonders, and influential friends or family. We must always ask the Holy Spirit to help us discern things. Sometimes it’s easy to trust our own wisdom, but when we hold fast to the Lord, we are able to follow His voice above the noise all around us.
Even if something seems good or is coming from someone you trust, remember to ask the Lord for His will and guidance.
