Deuteronomy 2
Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 2—
Verses 16-18
So as soon as all the men of war had perished and were
dead from among the people, the Lord said to me, 'Today you are to cross the border of Moab at Ar.’
The children of Israel have finally been given the go ahead to head toward the promised land. In the last 40 years, they have averaged 41 funerals per day while all the fighting men who had complained along with all but 2 of the spies have died, and now they are ready to move. The ones crossing the border are young, inexperienced in warfare, and had not seen the Red Sea part - many were born after they had already left Egypt.
But the Lord was with them. Just like He’s with me and with you. So today, as God asks us to set out and move in the direction He has called us, let’s walk with confidence knowing that He will never leave us or forsake us...just like He has
always done for everyone who trusts in Him.
