Numbers 7
Daily Devotional from Numbers 7--
Verse 89
And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him.
Mother Teresa was once asked in an interview, “What do you say when you pray?” She replied, “Nothing, I just listen.”
It’s interesting that when Moses went in “to speak with the Lord,” that the Lord was actually speaking to him. We often confuse prayer with talking, when much of prayer is actually listening.
So, yes, speak to him as much as you can. He’s a listening God. But, don’t forget, he’s a speaking God as well. Our prayers should be two-way conversations. So make sure to pour out your heart, but don’t forget he also wants to pour out his into you.
Sit before him today and listen.
