Leviticus 18
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 18--
Verse 30
So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.
There’s no way around it, so I’m just going to dive right in: this chapter is all about sex. Specifically, what kinds of sex are not okay with God. He created us – that means he created us with a sex drive, but he put parameters on how he wants us to use it. It’s intended to provide pleasure and intimacy (and babies!) between a man and his wife.
Sadly, if we don’t protect our minds and hearts from the prolific industry that has been created by those who want to SELL sex, it can become a trap, a snare, an addiction and an idol like it was for the Egyptians and Canaanites.
