Leviticus 15
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 15--
Verse 31
Thus you shall keep the people of Israel separate from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness by defiling my tabernacle that is in their midst.
In our day and age, we often think in terms of personal problems. My problems only affect me. However, you can see that the laws in Leviticus have a strong communal aspect to it. My personal problems can and will affect the entire community.
In fact, in verse 31, we see that the big concern was defiling the tabernacle. We can risk offending a holy God by approaching the act of worship too casually.
Never are we to view our problems in isolation of the community. And never are we to consider our issues as not touching our worship. It all matters. There’s just no way to compartmentalize any detail of my life. So the encouragement here is to handle our business. It doesn’t stay behind closed doors.
