Verse 26
And it stands to this day, that Pharoah should have the fifth.
God asks for 10%, but Pharoah takes 20. God gives us a Sabbath, while Egypt offers no days off. You can see why Israel groaned under a heavy load.
So the Lord delivers us from Egypt and lightens the load. His yoke is easy; His burden is light. But notice-- there is a yoke, and there is a burden. There are expectations, and there are rules. But, it’s nothing like what the world would put on you. The way of the transgressor is hard, but the path of the righteous is narrow. Take your pick. You gotta serve somebody. But if we’re smart, we will flee the ways of this world for a master who knows just how to treat us right.
