Genesis 7
Daily Devotional from Genesis 7--
Verse 16
And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in.
The entrance to the ark must have been pretty good-sized, to be able to fit giraffes and elephants inside. Just imagine being with Noah the day the flood began – when it says ‘all the fountains of the great deep BURST forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened’ – we get some solid downpours here in the PNW but this was next level – water from above and below! And here’s Noah and his family rushing into the ark, and wait - who’s going to shut the door before we get flooded?!?!
There are times God asks us to do a big task, and we do it, but we sometimes get to a point where we feel like we can’t do any more. We can’t keep going. We can’t quite cross the finish line.
BUT GOD is so Good! If we are faithful to do what He asks, He comes in at the moment when we are about to collapse, and bridges the gap. He Shuts the Door.
Be faithful, each day, in big choices and small, to follow God, and know that when you most need him, He will be there.
