Daily Devotional from Colossians 3--

Verses 1-2

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

After working outside in the yard on a hot, sunny day, it sure feels good to come inside, take a shower, and put on fresh clothes. 

This is a picture of the transformation that should take place when we become Christians. 

We take off our old, soiled, fleshly nature, as we are washed clean by the work of Jesus on the cross. Then we put on a new way of doing things - a change of mindset.

We put away things like “anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.”

We put on “compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other.”

Becoming a Christian requires a “change of clothes.” We decide to set our minds and priorities on the more important things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
