2 Corinthians 8
Daily Devotional from 2 Corinthians 8--
Verses 14-15
…your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”
If 2 Corinthians 8 were to be given a main topic, it would be “generosity”. As believers, Paul urged the Corinthian church to excel in being generous.
This generosity isn’t a command, but an encouragement to change the way they think about resources—whether they had a little or a lot.
Generosity is a heart attitude. Like Paul is challenging the Corinthian Church, the Holy Spirit asks the same challenge of us. Will we hoard our resources or will we use them (however much or little we have) to ease the burdens of others? If every believer walked in this attitude, no one would be in need.
