John 14
Daily Devotional from John 14--
Verse 1 & 27 (CSB)
Let not your hearts be troubled…
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.
Don’t let your heart be troubled. Jesus says this phrase twice in the same chapter!
Anxiety and fear have the tendency to trouble our hearts. Life overwhelms us and sometimes we feel like we can’t see past any of it. Throughout this chapter, Jesus tells his disciples that the Holy Spirit would be sent to them as a helper and comforter.
If your heart is feeling troubled today, take heart. Jesus has overcome the world, he will provide peace in your heart. The Holy Spirit is present to provide comfort and care. Take a moment to pause, breathe deep, and pray. It may take a minute, an hour, or a whole day—but take heart, Jesus provides peace.
