Daily Devotional from Luke 2--

Verses 10-11

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

How did you (will you) announce the coming birth of your first child? God the Father did it up big!

He announced to shepherds with angels. He announced to the Wise men with stars. He announced good news for ALL!

This birth announcement was only the beginning of the good news. There was the death of the Son to pay OUR penalty, His burial, and His resurrection — promised to all who believe. And the Holy Spirit was given as the down payment of our future inheritance.

When you are feeling low, don’t forget to ask for a little of that Holy Spirit down payment (assurance, love, joy, peace, purpose, power, wisdom, etc.) to use right now. 

You don’t need to wait until you get to heaven to start enjoying its benefits. Ask for it. Trust Him! He delivers what you need, just in time!
