Jeremiah 35-36

Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 36--

Verse 7

It may be that their plea for mercy will come before the Lord, and that every one will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and wrath that the Lord has pronounced against this people.

At a glance, the prophets may seem like people who went around and proclaimed the Lord’s judgment. But if you look a little deeper their message was always to tell the people to repent; turn from your evil ways!! God will forgive you and you will be saved from the coming judgment! 

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Jesus came and He gave the same message but He made it much more tangible - in fact, He became the very saving factor when He died and rose again. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved. Your sins will be forgiven and you will be free from any coming judgment. That’s why Jesus came so you can be saved!
