Let no one deceive you in any way.
Scripture says that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, so it is no surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:14-15). The New Testament constantly calls us to be on alert for spiritual deception. The enemy is at work. And you should know that his methods are not by frontal assault, but by indirect attack.
The ancient Greeks built a huge wooden horse as a peace offering and left it outside the gates of Troy. Horses were the symbol of the city. So, flattered by this kind gesture, the city’s inhabitants rolled the horse into the town square and left it there overnight. But, little did they know, a small select battalion of soldiers burst through and overthrew the city.
Let no one deceive you. Don’t be paranoid but do be careful. Every horse that comes your way may not be all that it seems.
