1 Corinthians 3:3
While there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?
Sometimes we feel it’s necessary to remind people that we’re only human! In one sense, that’s true. In another sense, it can be a lousy excuse.
Sure, we are fallible. We are not yet perfect. But, do remember, if you’ve placed your faith in Christ, something miraculous has taken place in you. You were born of imperishable seed, through the living and abiding word of God (1 Peter 1:23). You were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:13). And you have been made partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).
Yes, you are human. But, because of Jesus, you are not only human. You are something more. Therefore, by the grace of God, he wants us to act like it.
