1 Corinthians 1
1 Corinthians 1:10
I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no divisions among you.
Is it possible for all of us to agree? Probably not. But is it possible for all of us to be agreeable? Absolutely! And that’s what this verse is getting at. The New Living Translation uses the word harmony. Think of an orchestra. Harmony allows for differences. Different instruments. Different parts. Different notes. Yet lots of harmony because there is one conductor. Sure, we’re going to have our differences, but to maintain harmony there should be no divisions. If there are divisions today, hear this appeal—restore the peace. The harmony of the gospel depends on it.
