2 Samuel 14
Daily Devotional from 2 Samuel 14—
Verse 24
And the king said, “Let him dwell apart in his own house; he is not to come into my presence.” So Absalom lived apart in his own house and did not come into the king’s presence.
David did not handle the conflict between his sons well. He let things be, and he avoided things for too long. In the end, we will see how this all comes back to bite him. And ruins his family relationships.
It may be easier to avoid conflict or to keep those who’ve hurt us at arms’ length. But facing issues instead of sweeping them under the rug will bring true healing. Our God is a God of restoration and He’s given us many instructions on how to handle conflicts with one another.
Today, if there’s a conflict you’ve been avoiding, seek the Lord and His Word for how to navigate it.
