Daily Devotional from Joshua 6–
Verse 16
And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.”
I love the story of Jericho! Maybe because we watched the Veggie Tales episode about it a LOT, and it’s engraved in my memory! Seriously though, sometimes God asks us to do things that just don’t seem to make sense.
Stay in that job you don’t like. Knock on that door. Show love to that angry person. Go left on the next street.
It’s because there’s something he wants to accomplish, and we may never know what it is; our job is just to follow his lead. But we’ve got to be listening for that still, small voice. Joshua would never have dreamed up this crazy “attack” scheme - he had to be paying close attention to God’s voice to get the details right!
Listen for God. Shush the world around you and pay attention to the details - even if it doesn’t make sense right now - He has a plan!
