Daily Devotional from Numbers 36—
Verse 6
This is what the Lord commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Let them marry whom they think best, only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father.’
This was the Lord’s solution to the problem that arose from marriages between sons and daughters of different tribes of Judah. Don’t do it! It leads to problems.
Similar advice is given in the New Testament:
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?”
2 Corinthians 6:14
Whether it be in business or in marriage, partnering with people who have different values and priorities will lead to problems/disappointments/hurts that can be avoided by following this sound advice. Don’t do it!
