Daily Devotional from Numbers 34—


Verse 2
Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders)...


The Israelites’ inheritance was LAND for which they did not pay. Crops they didn’t have to plant, homes they didn’t have to build. They just had to go in and take the land that had been promised to them generations ago. What an inheritance!


As spiritual Israelites, grafted into God’s family, we also have an inheritance today. One we can’t buy, grow, or build. It is eternal life, the Holy Spirit, and a future in God’s kingdom! We also inherit traits from our Heavenly Father, like goodness, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. What an inheritance! We just have to go and take it! Our inheritance is a gift, but what good is a gift that is left unopened? Are there any gifts of God’s inheritance that you have yet to open?
