1 John 1
Daily Devotional from 1 John 1--
Verse 3
That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
This epistle is written, eyewitness testimony by John, who lived life with Jesus and came to know Him as the eternal Son of God. This is John who wants to share his story to make his joy complete - that we may share the same fellowship with Jesus that he had.
John had a special relationship with Jesus. He spent 3 years walking with Him as a friend and disciple. He sat next to Jesus at the last Supper. He was “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” He was with Mary at the foot of the cross and was appointed by Jesus to take care of her after His death.
He penned one of the 4 gospels and wrote epistles (1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Revelation) to provide additional, God-breathed training to help us navigate life.
What treasures can we discover that only John is able to share because of his special relationship? With God’s help, dig into his writings and find out for yourself!
