Job 35

Daily Devotional from Job 35–

Verse 5
Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you.

Elihu tells Job to look at the clouds to illustrate that God is infinitely higher than we are. Elihu claims that our actions do not affect God, but he is mistaken. Hebrews 13:16 tells us that God is pleased when we do good, and Isaiah 59:2 says our sins hide God’s face from us. 

God certainly is so much bigger than we can imagine, and it’s important to keep that perspective. But he’s also as close as your next heartbeat, always ready to redeem the repentant, and intimately desiring a relationship with us. 

God is big, and he is just, and he is loving.
