1 Kings 5
Daily Devotional from 1 Kings 5–
Verse 5
And so I intend to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord said to David my father, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, shall build the house for my name.’
Although David desperately wanted to see a house built for the Lord, it would be his son who would build it. Solomon benefited greatly from the peace that David toiled for, and that allowed him to focus on building the temple.
In life, there may be God-given dreams you have that you may never see come to pass. But we can trust that God will fulfill them, even if we don’t see them. Maybe through a family member or someone we discipled.
Today, let’s not hold too closely to how or when things are accomplished, but let’s trust in God and seek to run our race with Jesus.
