1 Samuel 27
Daily Devotional from 1 Samuel 27—
Verse 1
Then David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.”
It seems here that David made this decision on his own. I’m not sure he took the time here to consult the Lord and it led to some mess. He had to lie about the people he was raiding in order to not be found out. But the guy he was dwelling with simply loved him. Even in the midst of David doing his own thing God provided protection and gave David favor among the Philistines. David had a calling and God was going to see it through.
In the same way you, are called and God wants to get you there. He will protect you even when sometimes you don’t make the right decision. Trust God, He is good, if He has called you to it He will see you through it.
