Joshua 10
Daily Devotional from Joshua 10--
Verse 13
“Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.
What a miraculous God we serve, who listens to us and moves on our behalf. The sun was stopped in the sky for a whole day. What does this show us about our God? Well, I think it’s clear here that we don’t need to try to fight our battles alone; the Lord will fight for us! God has already got the victory, all power, glory, and majesty belong to Him.
How do we make it through the pressures of every day? Through the evils that plague the land? Ephesians 6:12 says “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” We have a battle raging today but there’s good news: the Son is risen and already victorious. He isn’t laying back down again.
