Deuteronomy 25
Daily Devotional from Deuteronomy 25–
Verses 15-16
A full and fair weight you shall have, a full and fair measure you shall have, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. For all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, are an abomination to the Lord your God.
God is just. His word is true. His inch is an inch, his pound a pound. And he wants us to be the same. To be people of integrity - the same in private as we are in public. We should be as kind to our family and neighbors as we are to our best friends.
This also carries through on the job. If you clock in 8 hours, you’d better have worked 8 hours. If you say you’ll do something, do it, knowing that your integrity glorifies God. Let your ‘yes’ be yes and your ‘no’ be no - say what you mean and be fully honest. This honors your Father in heaven. This is a way you can represent Jesus on earth. And this makes you the type of person others can look up to and respect.
