Numbers 32
Daily Devotional from Numbers 32--
Verse 11b
...because they have not wholly followed me…
In this chapter, we see that because the Israelites didn’t give themselves wholly to the Lord, they cut themselves off from receiving the incredible promised land!
I believe the principle we find in this chapter presents us with an opportunity to examine our own hearts. Are we wholly following the Lord? It’s a lot more comfortable to mostly follow the Lord, and a lot less costly.
“Just in case something goes wrong, or he asks me to do something too hard,” we think, “I want a way out.”
I think we’ve all been there. I know I have. But what happens when we immerse ourselves in the Lord, giving him our unhindered devotion? The Israelites found themselves in a land of abundance, blessing, and promise. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us: “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” On the other side of our complete dedication to God is new life. Freedom. An eternity with God. What’s keeping us from going all-in? It’s worth the risk.
