Numbers 24
Daily Devotional from Numbers 24--
Verse 2
And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe. And the Spirit of God came upon him...
It seems like Balaam was a good guy. After all, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he would only bless Israel and not curse them, despite the great riches he was offered.
Perhaps the temptation of riches was too great, because later in the Scriptures, we find Balaam counseled the enemy king Balak on how to put stumbling blocks before Israel.
Just because someone is used by God does not make them perfect, and just because one is imperfect, doesn’t mean they can’t be used by God. Don’t wait until you’re perfect before you’re willing to be used by the Lord. It will never happen. While it’s true that God desires us to be holy, He also understands our humanity. Is anyone worthy but Jesus?
So, go out there and do your part. He has a job that only you can accomplish. Ask Him what it is, and “Just do it!”
