Numbers 15
Daily Devotional from Numbers 15--
Verse 32
While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
God takes the Sabbath rest seriously. And while we are not bound by the Law, the Sabbath is something that benefits us greatly. In Hebrews 4:10 it says of the Sabbath, “for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” And it goes on to encourage us to strive towards that rest. Jesus said He was Lord of the Sabbath. And so I think it is in our best interest to take weekly time to retreat, rest, and worship.
This is something that I am personally trying to figure out myself, and I hope as a community we can strive to live life at a slower pace. Dedicating our time to the Lord and resting in Him.
