Leviticus 25
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 25—
Verse 22
When you plant your fields in the eighth year, you will still be eating from the large crop of the sixth year. In fact, you will still be eating from that large crop when the new crop is harvested in the ninth year.
Isn’t it amazing how the LORD provided for the Israelites? In this chapter, we see again the concept of laying down the work and trusting God to provide. I love God’s promise that he wouldn’t just provide what they needed, but he would provide in abundance… Three years’ worth of crops in one year! He simply asked the Israelites to trust him and obey, even if they couldn’t see his provision yet.
I wonder how many of us have chosen not to obey God because we don’t yet see how he will provide. I have been there. But I could also tell many stories of his miraculous provision when I laid down my reservations and obeyed him! On our side of obedience, there can be some worry and wondering. However, on the other side of our obedience is our faithful Heavenly Father, who always keeps his promises and takes care of his kids!
