Exodus 18
Daily Devotional from Exodus 18—
Verse 18
You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle all by yourself.
Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, was a man of wisdom. He saw how much responsibility Moses had taken upon himself and knew that he wouldn’t be able to sustain that pace for long. His solution? Ask for help.
Have you ever felt worn out? Too overwhelmed by the responsibilities you have? Maybe we can benefit from this fatherly advice: ask for help. We were never meant to do life alone; the Body of Christ is meant to be a thriving community! So, if you find yourself struggling under the weight of life, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Allow others to come around you and support you, and be ready to do the same for them when the need arises. We are stronger together!
