Jeremiah 27-28
Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 28--
Verse 13
You have broken wooden bars, but you have made in their place bars of iron.
Be careful. What you can easily do today may be nearly impossible to do tomorrow. Grace has a way of making things difficult. Hananiah had defied the Lord in his pride by breaking a yoke of wood, only to have iron formed in its place. We can defy the Lord Jesus today if we choose, but his grace is so ridiculously good that he makes the same act nearly impossible tomorrow. He says, if you’re going the wrong direction then you’ll have to do it over my dead body. And, unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens when people persist in their way.
