Galatians 4

Daily Devotional from Galatians 4--

Verses 6-7

And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

God has made us heirs to the riches of His kingdom by making us sons and daughters. 

And along with that inheritance, He has given us the privilege of calling Him by an intimate form of the title “Father.” Like a little child, we can call Him “Daddy.“ The use of this intimate term reminds us of our child-like total dependence on our faithful and loving Creator.  Daddy loves His little children.

We would never be able to appreciate and believe these truths without the the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is given as a pledge or down-payment of our inheritance when we first accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. ( Eph 1:14) Thank you, Daddy, for that assurance!
