1 Chron 29-2 Chron 1
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 1--
Verse 14
Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen.
Before Israel came into the promised land, Moses warned that its future king must never gather for himself horses, wives, and riches (Deut. 17:16-17). Power, sex, and money aren’t necessarily bad things, unless they exceed certain limits. Yet Solomon never seemed to have enough, and it spelled his doom.
What good things might you have trouble keeping in moderation? Food? Technology? Sleep? Work? Too much of a good thing is never a good thing. So, if God has blessed you with a relationship with his Son, Jesus, you can practice the art of saying 'I have enough.' Godliness with contentment is great gain.
